Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-medium weight silk originally intended to make a woman's  kimono; This is a 1950's fabric silk piece which is fairly smooth to the touch; background-color is peachy-burgundy with layered designs as follows: sinus wave shaped lines that partly overlap each other, running lengthwise; then, side-to-side laterally the lighter colors are strings of slender oval shapes irregularly configured; also, note pixelated tiny dots in the full grid at 'deepest' level of the overlay background (scarcely visible even in close-ups); this is quite a different design; the back of this fabric is solid black; slight drape.

Note: Colors vary on different devices so please use our text descriptions to complement your sense of the colors of this fabric.

Recommended for making scarf or accessories.
